AN APPEAL has been set up to help a family who are said to have "lost everything" as a result of a fire which spread through their home last night (Wednesday, September 26).

Firefighters were called to attend the blaze on Knowles Road just before 10.30pm.

Two crews spent nearly three hours at the scene tackling the fire which is understood to have been caused by a tumble dryer.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the inside of the property but North Wales Fire and Rescue have confirmed that all persons involved were accounted for.

Following the incident, Ty Hapus Community Research Centre have been appealing for clothing for the five children who live at the property.

A spokesperson for the centre said they have already had an amazing response to their appeal.

"Following our appeal for donations of uniform, everyone has been amazing and we have been swamped with items," he said.

"It is ordinary clothing such as shoes and so on that is needed for children aged between 11 and 16. We would like to say thank you very much to those who have already helped us with this appeal."

Anyone looking to donate items should drop them off at Ty Hapus on Ffordd Penrhyn.
