RNLI volunteers have been presented with a cheque for £1721.20 by pupils of Ysgol Aberconwy.
During the latter weeks of the summer term of school Ysgol Aberconwy nominated Conwy RNLI as its local charity of the year.
The main fundraising events were two large sponsored walks, both passing the lifeboat station with the walkers having the opportunity to see the station and the lifeboat.
David Jones, Volunteer Deputy Launching Authority for Conwy lifeboat said: “We are very grateful for this donation and for the efforts that the school have made. Without such donations, we would not be able to carry out our lifesaving work”.
Conwy RNLI has now developed strong links with the school, and has offered future safety talks in the school, as well as visits to the lifeboat station.
