A SPECIAL remembrance service to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended World War One will be held at St Hilary’s Church, Llanrhos.
The service will be the culmination of an open day at the church on Saturday November 3. The service, which will start at 3.00pm will feature a river of poppies and a candle will be lit for each one who sacrificed his life and is buried and remembered in St. Hilary's churchyard.
There a total of 44 members of the parish who are buried or remembered in the church cemetery, 12 of them with Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstones, a similar number in family plots. The remainder who are buried elsewhere, are remembered in the Church or on the headstones of family plots.
