The annual Llandudno Christmas Fayre is underway and in the 2018 event is set to include a range of new features.

Arriva have come onboard to support this year's event donating a special grotto bus which will give children the chance to board the Christmas themed bus, meet Santa Claus and drop off their Christmas wishlist in return for a festive gift.

The Arriva grotto bus, will be situated in the Lapland area of the fayre, where visitors can also enjoy a special virtual reality simulator of Santa’s sleigh, a selection of rides, and also board the Santa steam train.

The event, which takes place in Llandudno town centre, will also be home to an Elves’ Workshop area where children can design their own Christmas crafts and meet the elves themselves.

Fayre-goers will also see some familiar faces and have the chance to meet Llandudno’s resident snowman and walking Christmas tree.

Lisa Pearson, marketing manager for Arriva North West & Wales, said: “The build up to Christmas is such an exciting time for all the family, especially children, so we’re really pleased to be involved in such a great local event this year.

"We hope that all those who board the grotto bus will have a truly magical experience.”

The fayre will also feature a live entertainment area hosted by Llandudno Chamber of Trade, on the Y Pafillion stage where there will be an assortment of performances every day from Thursday to Sunday.

In addition to this, there will be two special concerts at the Holy Trinity Church on the evenings of 16 and 17 November.

Barry Mortlock, chief executive of the Llandudno Christmas Fayre, said: “The fayre is always a great event for all the family to get into the Christmas spirit, and after the success of last year we’ve been working hard to ensure our visitors will not be disappointed with some fantastic new festive additions to the fayre.”

The Llandudno Christmas Fayre will be open today until Sunday.
