With a decision on the controversial Marl Lane development imminent another housing plan has been given the green light just down the road.

Work to construct Llys Marl, a site set to contain 52 affordable and market homes, at the junction of the A470 and Marl Lane, was given the go-ahead by Conwy County Borough Council this week at a planning committee meeting.

A combination of two, three and four bedroom homes will be created over the coming months by Beech Developments and buyers are already lined up to take the first release of properties.

Beech Developments director, Matthew Gilmartin, said: “We are delighted to be starting work at Llys Marl. Not only do we have a long list of people who have waited patiently for this site to come to fruition, but our workforce and external contractors will also be thrilled to be working in their home county once again.

“There is a huge shortage in the housing supply in Conwy and these homes will not only go to help young families get onto the property ladder but help growing families find comfortable, well built, highly-sustainable and attractive properties right here in North Wales.”

The development will feature a children’s play area, cycle path, improved roads in and around the scheme, as well as additional open green spaces.

Built in close proximity to a variety of schools and local amenities, Beech Development said the new development is expected to also give a welcome boost to the local economy.

All Beech Developments award-winning sustainable homes feature solar PV panels, energy efficient heating systems and low energy lighting, as standard.
