Conwy is set to return to it's medieval roots this December.

The Conwy Chamber of Trade will, for the ninth year, hold it's annual Torch Lit Parade.

More than 100 people in costumes are set to take to the streets with torches on Saturday, December 8 as a celebration of the festive season.

Organiser of the event Toby Tunstall said Conwy had become a popular place to visit for Christmas shopping and the parade gave shoppers something else to enjoy within the medieval town.

Mr Tunstall said: "Conwy has certainly become the place to do your Christmas shopping with so many unique, individually owned shops and visitors are travelling considerable distances to do their shopping for the festive season."

This years's torch lit parade will feature the Morris Dancing Group Clerical Error bringing lots of colour and music to this festive event while for the first time ever fire performers from Inferno and drummers from Batala Bangor will be joining the event.

The Torch Lit Parade will be starting from Castle Square by the Conwy Castle on Saturday, December 8, at 5.45pm and will travel down Castle Street, up the High Street and finishing in Lancaster Square.
