Record numbers ran this year’s Conwy Half-Marathon to celebrate 10 years of the event.

About 3,650 entrants took part in the half-marathon, which has been voted one of the most scenic runs in the UK, in beautiful sunny conditions.

First to cross the line on the 10th anniversary event was Y Felinheli runner Gwyn Owen of Eryri Harriers in a time of 1 hour, 15 minutes and 27 seconds.

Runners have paid tribute to the event following the weekend.

Wynn Lewis said: “It was my first half marathon with Run Wales and there was just an amazing atmosphere. Everyone just wants you to carry on. Tough but brilliant can’t wait for more in 2019.”

Another runner Clive Palmer said: “I really enjoyed this race. It was well presented and there was a great atmosphere. Plus it was a lovely medal.

“Best of all I smashed my PB by 18 minutes and that’s with me running up the Great Orme. Thank you.”
