You'll be glad you came to this year's pantomime at Venue Cymru as The Wanted's Tom Parker leads an all-star cast in Cinderella.

This will be Parker's first ever panto, and just his second theatrical show, as he takes on the role of the heroic Prince Charming.

Speaking to the Pioneer's Patrick Glover at the Cinderella launch in Llandudno he said he was looking forward to the challenge of his first panto.

Parker said: "I did Grease for 10 months last year, where I was here (Venue Cymru) for a week. But this is going to be really different .

"With Greece, even though I'm playing a storyline, here the audience participation is going to be really nice whereas with Greece its like you've got to block the audience out.

"I had that in the band, it was all about audience participation so I think it's going to be quite nice to feel that audiecne participation again so really looking forward to it.

"It's going to be intense though with two shows, six days a week."

The pop star will be joined on stage by a high calibre cast including Natalie Winsor (Fairy Godmother), Dawson Chance (Baron Hardup), Herbie Adams (Buttons) and Carly Burns (Cinderella) who he said would help him through.

Parker said while he wasn't much into fairytales as a child he was excited about the challenge of playing such an imprtant role in a classic story.

He added: "Everyone knows about fairytales but for me when I was growing up it was about climbing trees or being out in the fields playing football. But I see every role as a challenge,

"I'm genuinely looking forward to the challenge. This is just my second theatre experience, so it'll be nice to step into a different role, I like to push my boundaries, with new experiences.

Audiences are set to be in stitches with a variety of humour set to put a twist on the classic tale of Cinderella.

You can also expect to hear a Wanted song or two through the pantomime.

Cinderella will be showing at Venue Cymru from December 6 to 30 and tickets are on sale now from the box office, online at https://venuecymru.co.uk/cinderella or by calling 01492 872 000.
