The Rotary Club of Rhos-on-Sea have held another record breaking Tree of Lights event.

While a final tally is yet to be calculated, £1466 was raised on the night of the Tree of Lights switch on alone, a record for the event which has entered its 20th year.

The money rasied through the event goes to Llandudno-based charity St David's Hospice.

The Rotary Club of Rhos on Sea said they expressed their thanks to all those who worked so hard to make the annual event such a success.

Businesses such as Absolute Sound, from Colwyn Bay, and Henllan, Denbigh, played a vital role in making sure the event and the tree itself went ahead.

They also thanked Beulah Brass & Cor Meibion Colwyn for their performances on the night of the event.

Other supporters of the event included Bay of Colwyn Town Council, Conwy County Borough Council, Dwr Cymru (Welsh Water), North Wales Pioneer, Morgan Sindall Construction Ltd and the Rhos Fynach.

The club said: "A big thank you to all those who made this event such a success and helped to support St. David’s Hospice."
