The Colwyn Bay mayor is set to spend a night on the streets to raise awareness and money for the homeless.
Cllr Stephen Williams will be taking to the streets of Colwyn Bay on Thursday night along with Llysfaen resident Tina Lewis to raise money for food for the homeless.
Cllr Williams said he had seen Ms Lewis' idea on social media and thought he would join in and help out.
He said: "We are trying to get the message out about how different it is, how cold it can be at this time of year and help those living on the streets as much as we can.
"I just want to try and highlight that this is a problem in the town.
"I am excited because I am putting myself in this situation and not sure what the outcome is going to be. It will be an exciting experience, despite the weather - I am just going to have to push myself through."
Money raised, Ms Lewis said, would use to buy food and water for the homeless which she would distribute.
She said: "More needs to be done to help these vulnerable people. Anyone is welcome to join me. I'm sure it won't be pleasant but fortunately it's only for one night."
