BEING prepared to give and take has been to key to a Rhos-on-Sea couple’s 60 happy years together.
Carol and Peter Hewitt of Bryn Teg Drive have celebrated their diamond anniversary and have received a card from the Queen to mark the occasion.
They have a son and daughter four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Carol said:
“We met at Gronant when we were just teenagers, and started courting in our late teens and married when I came out of teachers’ training college, in Ormskirk.
“I taught at schools in Manchester and finally at Llandrillo Technical College, now Coleg Llandrillo, where I taught physical education.
“We’ve had a very happy 60 years together and one lesson we’ve learned is that different is not wrong, and always being prepared to give and take and say sorry, those have been the keys to our happiness.
“We celebrated with a family meal.”
Peter worked as a staff engineer with the NFU.
