A Clogau Gold boss, the Welsh gold worn by generations of royalty, is challenging accusations of drink-driving and speeding in his Porsche on Christmas Day.
Benjamin Sherbrooke Roberts, aged 41, of Llanrwst Road, Upper Colwyn Bay, denied driving on the A55 at Broughton, near Chester, with a breath-alcohol count of 43. The legal limit is 35.
The managing director also denied speeding at 95mph on the dual carriageway, above a 70mph limit.
Magistrates at Mold bailed him until a trial next month.
Craig MacGregor, defending, said experts would be called in Roberts’s defence.
John Wylde, prosecuting, said a motorcycle PC had followed the car and carried out the breath test procedure.
