VOLUNTEERS from Rydal Penrhos school will be packing groceries in a Colwyn Bay supermarket to raise funds for the RNLI.

Staff and pupils will pack groceries in exchange for a donation at Morrisons, from 9.00am until 3.00pm on Saturday January 26.

In a similar initiative last year school raised a total of £820.28. It also gathered £357.05 from its annual Christmas concert at St John’s Church.

Director of studies at Rydol Penrhos, Sally Harding, said: “We are extremely proud of our association with the RNLI that has spanned decades, and hopefully this year’s fundraising bag packing day will be equally as successful.

A spokesperson for the RNLI said: “‘As a charity which relies on voluntary contributions and legacies for income, we are so grateful to Rydal Penrhos for their continued support.

“Every penny raised is helping our volunteer crews continue saving lives at sea, and the support from Rydal Penrhos has been unwavering. We hope the community digs deep at the forthcoming bag pack and wish students every success.”
