COME one come all to a magnificent screening of a celluloid classic.

Theatr Colwyn’s monthly screening tailored to the needs of people with dementia returns with a screening of Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein’s sing-along classic West Side Story.

Featuring electrifying performances from Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, Russ Tamblyn and Rita Moreno, this Romeo and Juliet set amidst gang-ridden 60s New York City, is one of the best musicals ever made.

Including the songs Maria, Tonight, America and Something’s Coming this timeless piece's bristling energy earned it an incredible 10 Oscars in 1962.

Wood is Maria, a Puerto Rican girl who falls in love with Tony - played by Beymer - a white American boy.

Their love causes dangerous repercussions between the respective gangs their families are involved in – The Sharks and The Jets.

Sing along with West Side Story at Theatr Colwyn on Thursday, February 7 at 2pm.

Tickets are £4.50, with free entry for carers and refreshments available at the interval.

This is a screening for people with dementia, memory loss and their family, friends and carers but is open to the general public. A friend, family member or carer must also attend.Any wheelchair users are invited to contact the venue ahead of time to reserve a space.
