A boy has been taken to hospital following an attack at Eirias High School.

North Wales Police were called at about 10.15am on Monday morning to reports of an assault on one pupil by another at Eirias High School in Colwyn Bay.

A boy was taken to hospital with injuries which are not deemed to be life changing.

The investigation is ongoing and officers are talking to witnesses at the scene.

Chief Inspector Owain Llewellyn said: “There is an increased police presence at the school to provide reassurance.

"We cannot go into any further details at the moment; however we would ask people not to speculate on social media.”

Eirias High headteacher, Sarah Sutton, added: “The school can confirm that an incident took place this morning and that the police have been informed and are dealing with the incident.

"Parents are more than welcome to contact the school for reassurance.”
