A seven-year-old Ysgol Bodafon student has beaten more than 150 entrants to win the Bodnant Craft Centre's art competition.

The craft centre, located in Tal-y-Cafn, held the art competition for children within the county receiving more than 150 entries who created pieces to the theme winter wonderland.

From these entries 10 finalists were chosen, and people were asked to vote for their favourite design.

More than 800 votes were counted, and the winning design was created by seven year old Isabelle Rivers, who is a pupil at Ysgol Bodafon in Llandudno.

Isabelle received a large box of art materials as her prize.

Brian Alcock, Managing Director of Bodnant Garden Centre, said: "We were overwhelmed by the quality of all the entries, but Isabelle’s design was clearly the favourite and eventually received over 250 votes.

"As well as receiving her prize, Isabelle’s artwork will also be printed as our 2019 Christmas Card and sold here at Bodnant with a donation going towards our chosen local charity”.

Bodnant will be running more art competitions this year, as part of a programme of events planned over the coming months at the centre.
