A family have paid tribute to a "loved and treasured" son, father and partner, who died in a crash in north Dorset.

At 5.50pm on Saturday, January 26, Dorset Police received a report of a crash involving a single vehicle - a silver Peugeot Boxer van.

Two people were travelling in the van which left the carriageway at Tiley Knap, Middlemarsh.

The passenger, who has now been named as 37-year-old Neil Adam Parsons from Sherborne, suffered serious injuries and was trapped in the vehicle.

He was released with the assistance of firefighters before being airlifted to Southampton General Hospital.

However he later sadly died from his injuries.

His family have now released a tribut to "special" Neil.

In a statement they said: β€œIn our hearts and memories Neil will always stay. Loved and treasured by all who knew him. A very special son, daddy, partner, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and cousin. Friend to many.”

The driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old man from Somerset, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and taken to Dorset County Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

He has been released under investigation as officers continue to make enquiries.

Police made an appeal yesterday for anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch with them.
