A CONWY valley bridge will be closed for up to six weeks causing 12 miles long diversions.
Essential maintenance is taking place on Tal-y-Cafn bridge, the only crossing over the River Conwy between Llanrwst and Conwy.
A spokesperson for Conwy County Borough Council explained the work will include: replacing waterproofing on the concrete deck; replacing joints; upgrading drainage; repairing concrete and resurfacing.
It is planned the work will take until Friday March 29 to complete and diversionary routes will be signposted.
Access to the 200 year old Tal-y-Cafn pub, a former coaching inn turned bistro, will not be affected by the work, which is being carried out by M W T Civil Engineering.
