ONE of the world's greatest classical singers Alfie Boe brings it back home to the UK, with a stop in Llandudno this month.

In what is fast becoming another landmark year for the much loved tenor, Boe will grace the Venue Cymru on Wednesday, March 20.

His return to the solo spotlight follows the release of his vibrant and instantly classic album As Time Goes By last November.

Celebrating the oft overlooked the golden era of music from the 30s and 40s, the album reestablishes the importance of a time that is often overshadowed by the enduring cultural prestige of the roaring 20s and the emergence of rock 'n' roll 1950.

Boe said: "We'll be enjoying some of great songs from my previous records, but I more than anything want to bring back to life an era when British audiences discovered a brand new kind of American music, full of energy, optimism and romance.

"I'd like to transport people to a time in their lives, a moment or even a style. I hope you all enjoy being transported there as much as I do!

"I'm excited to get back on the road, especially with a new record that I'm so proud of. These songs are at their best when performed live!"

Alfie is one of the best-loved vocalists of his generation and a hugely successful, multi-platinum selling artist as well as excelling in concert halls around the world, with two recent UK number one albums under his belt in the shape of the grand Together and Together Again, made with his great friend Michael Ball.

The duo also won two Classic BRIT Awards last year for Best Album and Group of the Year.

A consummate performer, he has also triumphed on the stage as Jean Valjean in the musical Les Misérables at the Queen's Theatre in London, the Les Misérables: 25th Anniversary Concert in October 2010, and in the Broadway revival.

He also played the lead role in Finding Neverland on Broadway beginning 29 March 2016, as well sharing a Tony Award with the other members of the ensemble cast of Baz Luhrmann's 2002 revival of La bohème in 2003.

To witness the sheer range of this amazing performer, head to Venue Cymru on Wednesday, March 20 at 7.30pm.

Tickets start at £36.50, with Up Close VIP and Ultimate Meet & Greet VIP options available. To book, visit venuecymru.co.uk or call the box office on 01492 872000.
