A 22-year-old man was banned from the road for 23 months after being found to have been driving with cocaine and a compound of the drug in his blood.

Rhys Rowllings, of Upper Gate Street, Conwy, pleaded guilty to driving with an excess amount of drugs in his system.

He was placed on a community order for 18 months.

He must also take part in a probation course and join a six months drug rehabilitation review.

Costs of £170 were also imposed at Llandudno court.

Diane Williams, prosecuting, said Rowllings had been stopped in Lloyd Street, Llandudno, last November when police officers thought he was driving his vehicle too fast.

Alex Fitzgerald, defending, said Rowllings had personal issues and he was anxious to address these.

“Quite clearly he should never have got in his vehicle with these drugs in his system,” he added.
