A CRAIG-Y-DON chiropodist has launched a shoes for the homeless appeal.

The shoes will be given to Llandudno charity Hope Restored to be given to disadvantaged people.

Podiatrist Rita Roberts of Feet First Chiropody, was inspired to start the shoe appeal after reading about the amazing work done by Hope Restored, started by Brenda Fogg.

Brenda said: “We’re so grateful for this shoe appeal that Rita has started, it’s a really good thing that she has done, as shoes aren’t generally something people tend to think about donating.

“Shoes make a massive difference to us. If people are homeless they walk around from town to town and their shoes don’t tend to last very long. That’s why a good pairs are always welcome, especially at this time of year.“

Rita said: “I’ve been aware of Hope Restored for a good while and always had great admiration for the charity and what it achieves.

“So I came up with the idea of helping Hope Restored with donated shoes. However, I knew that Brenda doesn’t have a lot of room for storing shoes so I spoke to BOCS Storage in Mochdre, and they immediately said they would help out.”

The shoes are dropped off at Feet First Chiropody to be given to Brenda and and when there’s too many to be stored at Hope Restored, BOCS Storage kindly store the rest.

Guto Lewis of BOCS Storage said: “Brenda and her team of volunteers at Hope Restored do remarkable work for our community and we’re pleased to help them in this way.”

Donations of shoes to can be dropped off at Feet First, Victoria Buildings, Mostyn Avenue, Craig y Don. Men’s, women’s and children’s shoes are welcomed.
