HUNDREDS of ladies are expected to take part in the third St David’s Hospice ladies only Moonlight Memories Walk.

Last year, the event raised more than £25,000 for the hospice, which provides end of life care to those living with an advanced illness in Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

The 10 kilometre night time walk, which is planned for Saturday June 22, will start at 10.00pm and will finish at Ysgol John Bright.

To commemorate loved ones, a Moonlight Memories Garden will be lit up at the hospice along the route, and walkers will be welcomed to leave a message on the memories tree. All messages are treasured safely in a memories book which is kept at the hospice chapel after the event.

Head of Fundraising, Margaret Hollings said: “The Moonlight Memories Walk is very much about ladies coming together for a big night out and to remember loved ones. As the sun sets over the Llandudno Promenade, the walk takes place under the stars with only the glimmer of bunny ears, glow bracelets and face paints.

“You don’t need to be an experienced walker to take part and there is no pressure on finishing within a certain time. The walk is ideal for groups of friends, colleagues and family wanting to feel good and make a difference”.

Registration is open now and the entry fee is £15 per person, participants must be aged eight or over. The entry fee includes a t-shirt, half-way refreshments and a medal on completion as well as a special butterfly tag to write messages on and place in the Moonlight Memories garden on the night.

There is a limit of 500 places, bookings can be made at www.stdavidshospice.org.uk or call 01492 879058.
