Two Rhos-on-Sea promenade shelters will be demolished as part of works to restore the deteriorating structures.

Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) begun works last week following an inspection of the seven shelters, which are located between Rhos-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay, was carried out last month and complaints were received from the public about their condition.

Two of the shelters were found to have corroded metal and degraded concrete to the extent they were considered to have come to the end of their useful life, and these have been demolished.

The remaining five shelters will be undergoing a programme of repair which will include jet washing, repairing under roof cladding, repairs to slabs and repainting of soffits.

This work is scheduled to be completed by the end of March.
