TWO artists, separated by a generation in age and an ocean will come together in Llandudno this weekend.

MOSTYN Gallery on Vaughan Street will welcome English pop-artist Derek Boshier all the way from Los Angeles for a conversation with fellow artist S Mark Gubb from Cardiff on Saturday.

Gubb is both co-curating and presenting his work alongside Boshier's exhibition, and the pair will be joined by writer and art critic Chris Fite-Wassilak.

The discussion will offer a window for art lovers to examine the themes in common to both artists' working practices, which refer to contemporary political issues through the imagery and language of popular culture.

The talk, which takes place on Saturday 16 March at 2.30pm, will be BSL interpreted and is free, although booking is strongly advised.

There will be an official opening of the exhibition from 4pm on the same day, with live music from Robert Fraser’s Groovy Arts Club Band which includes tributes to the two artists along with cover versions of songs by David Bowie and the Clash.

To book a place call the gallery on 01492 868191 between 10.30am and 4pm.
