Llandudno's historic tramway is set to re-open once again for the summer season.

The Great Orme Tramway is to to re-open on March 23 and will run seven days a week until the end of November.

Residents and visitors to the area are being urged to stay off the tracks once the tramway re-opens in the coming weeks.

Neil Jones, tramway manager, said: "With public safety our highest priority and over 40 trams a day travelling the route up the Orme we asks that motorists take note of the access restrictions along Old Road.

"Drivers should take extra care, and adhere to the Highway Code, when negotiating the crossing at black gate junction on the lower section and at Church Road on the upper section.

"Past experience shows that some individuals disregard the Highway Code, which can lead to vehicles coming into conflict with he tram; it also sets a bad example to drivers unfamiliar with the area.

"Thank you for your cooperation, drive carefully and stay safe."
