Snooker's biggest stars are set to hit Llandudno for the Coral Tour Championship next week.

Venue Cymru will welcome the event for the first time with action set to run from Tuesday until Sunday.

It will be the fifth consecutive year that the North Wales town has hosted a major event, having staged the World Grand Prix in 2015-16 and the Players Championship in 2017-18.

The Coral Tour Championship is a new event in the same series.

Only the leading eight players on the 2018/19 season rankings list will qualify, so it will be an elite field of the best cue kings on the planet.

North Wales Pioneer:

Action from last year's event

Last season’s Coral Players Championship in Llandudno was won by Ronnie O’Sullivan, beating Shaun Murphy in the final. Also in the field were the likes of Mark Selby, Judd Trump, John Higgins and Mark Williams.

Richard Jones, Marketing Manager at Venue Cymru, said: "Venue Cymru is very pleased to host another fantastic Snooker tournament. These events generate a huge amount of interest and we attract customers from all across the UK, as well as great support from Llandudno and Conwy County residents.

“It is a great attraction for the town, and once again we expect many local businesses to benefit from the event. The Players Championship earlier this year saw record attendance figures, and I am confident we will attract even more people for the Ladbrokes Tour Championship in 2019.”

The North Wales Pioneer have two day pass tickets to give away for Tuesday of the championship event.

The tickets will admit the recipients for both the 1pm and 7pm quarter final sessions.

The line-ups for those two sessions are: (afternoon) Trump v Williams; Robertson v Selby; (evening) O’Sullivan v TBC; and Robertson v Selby.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is answer the following question: only the leading how many players from the 2018/19 season rankings will qualify for the Llandudno-based Coral Tour Championship event?
