LLANDUDNO and Area Women’s Group heard from two Conwy councillors on women in democracy, at its International Women’s Day dinner at the Imperial Hotel, Llandudno.
Cllr Elizabeth Roberts, cabinet member for social care, and armed forces community champion and cllr Anne McCaffrey, cabinet member for democracy, law and modernisation both addressed the group
A spokeswoman for the group said: “They told us how they achieved their positions within the council and described the workings of the council.
"The group was informed of the ratio of women to men within the county council.
“They both recognised how difficult it is for young women with families and full time jobs to enter public life, but stated if the passion is there to commit to the community a way will always be found to work round the problems of family life.”
