G4S employees are set to lose their jobs ahead of the closure of the company's Llandudno branch.

The Pioneer reported last week the G4S Llandudno branch would be closing next month and all of its 23 employees would be relocating to the company's Liverpool branch.

However employees, speaking annoymously to the Pioneer, have said this is not the case and all of them would be losing their jobs.

John Lennox, operations director for G4S cash solutions UK, said they were working closely with the GMB and the company were making every effort to offer new roles at other locations where possible.

Mr Lennox said: “We confirmed in January that our Llandudno branch would be closing in April as part of our network review to maintain and improve the efficiency of the business.

“The majority of the work will move to our Liverpool branch, where new roles will be offered, and we’ll be working with the GMB to retain as many of our team as possible.

“We will continue to consult regularly with our staff at this sensitive time and all relevant parties throughout this process.”

The branch is said to be closing April 26.
