A PUBLIC meeting will be held in Llanrwst to explore residents’ views on what action can be taken to prevent future flooding in the area.

It will be held on Friday, April 5, at 6.30pm at Glasdir, Plas yn Dre, Station Road. The town and Conwy Valley has recently suffered extensive flooding and on a number of occasions in the past.

The meeting has been organised by Janet Finch-Saunders AM. She said: “The purpose of this public meeting is to discuss the horrendous flooding encountered by resident across Aberconwy in mid March.

“While community volunteers, and officers from Conwy County Borough Council and Natural Resources Wales did their best in the circumstances to help protect homes, businesses, and people, I do believe serious questions need to be asked about what could and can be done to help avoid such a deluge in the future.

“More than anything, I hope that this public meeting will provide a platform for affected constituents to share their experiences of the flood, and any ideas they have as to how the situation could be improved.

“By working together, I hope we can achieve something positive.”
