A FORMER chairman of the Royal British Legion in Conwy has won a by election to the town council.
Martin Craven, Conservative, came top of the poll with 195 votes, followed by Sara Louise Allardice, Labour, with 109 votes and Pamela Ann Owens, Independent, with 53 votes.
Martin is married with two grown up children and works as the operations manager for youth engagement on a Welsh government traineeship programme based in Mochdre. He served with the Royal Engineers and is a Lt Colonel with the Army Cadet Force. Just before Christmas he founded the Armed Forces and Veterans breakfast club in the Comrades Club in Conwy.
He said: “I am delighted to have been elected to Conwy town council and will work hard to help promote the town.”
