A COLWYN bay pupil and martial artist has ended a four-year journey with a prestigious grading honour.

Tristan Griffiths, a pupil at Rydal Penrhos school, recently took his karate black belt assessment thanks to his sterling commitment to the programme over a prolonged period.

The 11 year old kept his composure in front of adjudicators at the John Lynn black belt martial arts academy in Colwyn Bay. Tristan received his black belt following the assessment

Alison Hind, head of Rydal Penrhos prep school, said: “This is a remarkable achievement and one that Tristan can rightfully be very proud of.

“Tristan has demonstrated a tremendous amount of both discipline and dedication in order to reach his black belt target. It is a testament to his drive, talent and ability to thrive under pressure.”
