THE Victorian Extravaganza is returning once more to take over the streets of Llandudno this Bank Holiday weekend.

Thousands are expected to descend upon the seaside town as it welcomes the 33rd edition of the hugely-popular event.

Starting today and lasting through till Monday evening, the festival celebrates Llandudno's Victorian heritage, bringing a display of traditional entertainment, parades and exhibits to the Town.

The Extravaganza itself takes place throughout the centre of Llandudno, with several arenas dotted about the town.

There's a new format for 2019 - with entertainment taking the form of a main stage which has a program of acts scheduled from 10.30am today, 11am on Sunday and Monday.

There's dance acts, dress competitions, plus Wurlitzer by Kevin Grunhill at several points throughout the day.

The cultural arena sees performances from both the Llandudno Town band and the Cambria Band take place each afternoon from 2pm. The North Western Gardens is home to a sideshow and a circus workshop on each day.

The Vintage Section on Mostyn Street is hosting a flea circus, an outdoor magic experience, a balloon show and there will also be a roving street magician out and about around Llandudno.

Under the Mini Top, you can be taken back in time and experience school in the Victorian era. You’ll dress up and step inside to experience a little bit of history.

There will also be a free, early era family circus with shows daily from 10.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

There's also a funfair on site, and a live wrestling show at 6pm (today only).

The Transport Festival will also be taking place alongside the Extravaganza itself.

Over the course of the weekend there will be appearances from miniature steam engines, horticultural equipment, cars, vintage cars, Landrovers, military equipment, classic caravans, modern lorries, motorcycles and so much from all across the UK and Ireland.

Sunday sees two major events take - there is the annual Crosville gathering of buses and coaches and the Extravaganza street parade of walkers in costume, cyclists, marching bands, entertainers and traction engines to circle the town.
