A TEENAGER who died after being recovered by Coastguards off the coast of Llandudno has been identified.

Ysgol John Bright pupil Dylan Brown, 13, who was from Llandudno, had been rescued from the water at Pigeon's Cove, on the Great Orme at about 9.20pm on Saturday. He was airlifted to hospital but later died.

On Sunday, Samuel Luke Williams, who is the father of Dylan's sister Kelly's baby, released a statement on behalf of the family.

"On behalf of his mother, brothers and sisters, they would like to thank everybody for their kind words and actions in this tragic situation," he said.

"Although this has absolutely destroyed the family, their faith in humanity has been restored."

Mr Williams added that Dylan was the uncle of his daughter Lilly-May. He has now set up a fundraiser to help cover the cost of Dylan's funeral.

North Wales Pioneer:

Having already set up a fundraising gig in memory of his late friend, Racheal Sculsey, Mr Williams has decided that the rest of the money raised during that fundraiser will now be donated towards Dylan's family.

The show at the Llandudno Rugby Club on May 24 will raise money for both causes.

North Wales Police said there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding Dylan's death. He is believed to have been with a friend at the time when he fell and hit his head.

Mr Williams added: "He was a lovely happy funny polite well mannered kid who loved his YouTube and xbox."
