PARENTS of school children have been getting snappy behind the camera and learning the art of photography.
Parents from Ysgol Swn y Don, Colwyn Bay, have been working with Kirsten Buchanan from Tape Community Music & Film to complete the Agorof Cymru Level 2 in Digital Photography
Participants took part in an exhibition, in Peulwys Community Centre, and displayed their work which focused on the environment.

Kirsten said: "We had five parents who took part in the project. The course focused on technical and IT skills and individuals are now looking at becoming self employed. The course helped with confidence boosting, being more involved in the community and those on the course were really motivated.
"It has been really lovely, they are all really keen - it is really rewarding.
"We do it as an outreach project so we can can go to them, we run sessions out of our base."
Joanna Howells, parent trainer teacher at Ysgol Swn y Don, said: "The exhibition went well. Participants are very keen to continue with their learning and are in talks with Tape to try and develop their skills further. They would be really keen to carry out some work using our local beaches.
"Parents and visitors enjoyed looking at all the photographs and supported each other to mount each others work and display them.
"There was a real sense of pride and achievement from the participants and although they are keen to take their pieces home, they are happy to display them in the community centre for others to enjoy.
"The parents preferred the photos that had had little or no Photoshopping. They were amazed at the amount of different things there were to look at and observe, whereas normally they would have walked straight past.
"Through the course we had studied some of the works of Tim Pugh - and the parents would like to create some pieces of art to photograph in the future made from "rubbish".
The ‘Creative Sparks’ project has been funded by European Social Fund monies, administered via the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA).
Any friends or family who were unable to attend the exhibition can see the photos at the Community Cafe every Tuesday from 1.30pm until 3pm.
