THE funeral arrangements for a teenager who died off the coast of Llandudno have been announced.

Dillan Brown, 13, had been rescued from the water at Pigeon's Cove, on the Great Orme at about 9.20pm on Saturday, May 4. He was airlifted to hospital but later died.

His funeral will be held at the Trinity Church in Llandudno from 2.30pm on Thursday (May 16). After that, a cremation service will be held in Colwyn Bay.

Anyone wishing to pay their respects to Dylan are invited to attend and a wake will be held at the football club in Llandudno once the funeral has taken place.

Dylan was from Llandudno and was a pupil at Ysgol John Bright school. His headteacher Ann Webb praised his "warm, cheerful and loving nature".

"All of the pupils and staff were devastated to learn of Dillan’s tragic death and our hearts go out to his immediate and extended family at this most difficult of times," she said.

"Dillan was a much-loved member of the close-knit Ysgol John Bright community. He had a heart of gold and was a very caring and thoughtful son, brother and uncle. It was very evident how important his family was to Dillan and how much he loved them."

Earlier this week, an inquest into Dillan's death determined that the likeliest cause of his death was drowning and cold water immersion.
