FAMILY, friends and fellow pupils of an Ysgol John Bright pupil said an emotional farewell to Liverpool football fan Dillan Brown this afternoon (Thursday).
Dillan, 13, who was from Llandudno, was initially rescued from the water at Pigeon's Cove, on the Great Orme, at about 9.20pm on Saturday, May 4. He was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, but died later in hospital.
On Thursday, May 16, those who knew Dillan turned out in their numbers to pay their respects at the funeral held at the Holy Trinity Church, Llandudno.
The service was led by reverend Andrew Scully and saw Dillan's coffin, red in colour and adorned with the badge of his beloved Liverpool Football Club, carried in by close family members.
A candle was lit at the start of the service before hymn 'All Things Bright and Beautiful'. Rev Scully then read out Psalm 121 before paying tribute to Dillan.
The song 'Two Again' by Christian Burrows then played before Dillan's brothers and sisters, and some of his other family members, were invited up to light candles to be placed by his coffin.
The service concluded with Liverpool Football Club's pre-match song 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as Dillan was carried back out to the hearse.
Following the funeral, a committal was held at Colwyn Bay Crematorium, as well as a wake at the Llandudno Football clubhouse.
The order of service leaflet handed out during the service stated that Alison (Dillan's mother) and the family "wished to express their sincere gratitude for all kindness and sympathy show to them at this sad time".
