CONWY inshore lifeboat and Llandudno coastguard rescue team were called out to rescue a group of people in danger of being stranded on a sandbank off Llandudno’s West Shore.
A spokesman for Holyhead Coastguard Rescue Centre said: “We received a report on Thursday evening that a group of three or four people walking on the sandbanks off the West Shore were in danger of being cut off by the incoming tide, which was circling behind them.
“We called out the Coastguard rescue team from Llandudno and the Conwy inshore lifeboat to go to the group’s rescue. But by the time they arrived on the scene the members of the group had managed to get to safety by their own efforts.”
He added: “We would warn everyone to check the time of the tides before venturing onto sandbanks and they should have local knowledge.”
