OUTBURSTS of rain could dampen the spirits of residents across Wrexham and Flintshire this bank holiday weekend.

The Met Office are currently predicting there’s up to a 40 per cent chance of showers in both regions on Sunday (May 26) and Monday (May 27).

And along with the higher chance of rain, gusts of wind could reach around 30mph in both Wrexham and Flintshire at some points over those two bank holiday days.

Saturday (May 25) seems the likeliest day to remain dry over the weekend, with less than a 5 per cent chance of rainfall and gust speeds over a third lower.

Overall, parts of Flintshire can look forward to slightly warmer temperatures than Wrexham is set to expect, weather experts have predicted.

Weekend temperatures in the county will peak at around 18 degrees Celsius on Sunday, while there will be highs of 16 degrees on Saturday and 15 degrees on Monday.

Similarly, Sunday, May 26, will also be the warmest day of the weekend in Wrexham, with temperatures potentially reaching around 17 degrees.

That figure is higher than the expected 15 degrees on Saturday and 14 degrees on Monday in Wrexham.
