CONWY inshore lifeboat was called out to aid a 28 feet long power boat with engine problems.

The lifeboat was launched to go to the drifting vessel during the town’s pirate weekend celebrations.

A spokesman for Conwy lifeboat said: “The crew pagers were activated at 11:42am and the RNLI lifeboat, the May-Bob, launched with her volunteer crew minutes later.

"She made her way through the navigational channel to the last reported position given by the coastguard rescue centre at Holyhead, of the casualty vessel, where she was now being assisted by another pleasure craft reducing her drift.

“Upon arrival, the lifeboat took over the tow and the casualty vessel was safely taken navigated through the navigational channel to Conwy Marina.”
