A MAGICAL shop in Llandudno recently celebrated its one year anniversary.

On May 18, the Wizarding Boutique on Clonmel Street marked the special occasion with a range of activities.

The Harry Potter themed store put on a fancy dress competition and offered guests homemade butterbeer - made popular by the series created by author JK Rowling. Seymour's Cafe also donated free food towards the event.

Fire breather Kitty Noble was on hand to perform a special routine outside the shop and paint some faces and characters such as Severus Snape, Bellatrix Lestrange and Luna Lovegood also attended.

Guests were also warned to “bring their wands” in case any death eaters were present during the event.

Shop owner Debbie Corkish said: "It was a fantastic day and was busy throughout. I'd like to say a big thank you to all those who came to show their support, it was great to see so many friendly faces.

"The business started out on the pier in April 2018 as a test but since moving here in November, it has really grown into something much more permanent and people really seem to like it."

The Wizarding Boutique sells all sorts of film replicas from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series' including everything from wands to candles and also hosts potion making sessions, quizzes and so much more.

It is also set to test out a new Escape Room event in the coming weeks and has been nominated for the 'New Business' prize at the upcoming Conwy Business Awards on June 21.
