TWO Conwy town councillors have attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace.
Cllr Patricia Hart and Cllr Terrence James were invited to mark their service for the local community at Clwb Yr Efail, which supports older people in Conwy, which helps people socialise and reduces isolation. It was set up in 1978.
Husband and wife team cllr Patricia Hart and cllr Terrance James briefly met the Queen during the afternoon. Her Majesty spoke to cllr Hart briefly discussing the problems of maintaing the drives and pathways in the garden.
Cllr James said: “I felt very humbled to be there. It was one of the most memorable days of my life and one which both of us will never forget, it has been seared into our memories.
“I believe the invite was in recognition of the work done by the whole Clwb Yr Efail team, not just me and my wife.”
