THE Ewe Felty Thing, wool shop, in Llandudno has been nominated for an accolade in the British Knitting and Crochet competition.

This Madoc Street shop , which specialises in hand dyed yarns and fibres, has been nominated for the award of Best Local Independent Yarn Store in Wales.

The awards, which have been running for 12 years, include categories on all aspects of knitting and crochet, and are the most prestigious in the British fibre industry. Ewe Felty Thing, which has only been open for a year, has already sparked interest worldwide for it's unique range of UK and Irish indie dyed yarns.

The shop has been a hit with visitors from as far afield as Tasmania, New Zealand and the United States.

Nikki Small, who runs the shop, said: "The number of crafters who visit the shop and are blown away by the amount of colour and variety in the shop is phenomenal.

“I so often hear people comment this is their favourite shop. It never fails to amaze me that the shop is so loved even after only being open for a short time.”
