GRAHAM Shimmin, Llandudno’s Lion Club President has presented a cheque for £200 to Carolyn Hadrian, who has volunteered to teach English in a school for a small charity in Kratie on the banks of the Mekong river, Cambodia.

The money will go towards a kitchen and a breakfast club for the local children. Ms Hadrian said: “This is such a deprived area many of the poverty stricken children are constantly hungry.

“At present, we are providing some fruit and milk for the kids, however, we would like to build a kitchen. To build and equip the kitchen with a fridge will cost the equivalent of £770.”

Carolyn is currently the manager of the Ty Llewelyn Community Centre.
