The Welsh Mountain Zoo – National Zoo of Wales is once again hosting its hugely successful Community Weekend, launching a campaign of extra special events and activities for local residents and supporters of the zoo.

Being held on June 15 and 16, visitors can expect to see some super special activities!

Lifesize caricatures of fairytale princesses and heroes will be on hand to make young visitors day that extra bit special whilst circus performers, including stilt walkers and jugglers, will keep the crowds entertained as they provide workshops to demonstrate exactly how its done.

Chainsaw carving will also be taking place, whilst those keen to make an impact can enjoy face painting and glitter art.

This is the third year running that the Zoo has hosted the community weekend during which time, half price admission is given to all those presenting documentary proof of residency in Conwy County.

Jennifer Jesse, Director of Operations and Administrator at the Welsh Mountain Zoo explained: “The Community Weekend has been incredibly popular during the past two years and this year we’ve added even more exciting events and attractions.

“The ongoing support of the local community is so important to us as an enterprise and as a charity and this is our way of saying thank you.”

Jen added: “We'd advise anyone who’s interested in coming to keep an eye on the website and social media channels for further updates on all of the activities that we will be running.”

Driving licence, utility bills with addresses and Conwy Cards are required as proof of residency and groups will be limited to six people and one car. The zoo will be open from 9.30am on both Saturday and Sunday.
