EIGHTY years ago a lot of people were collecting scrap metal to support Great Britain's war effort. Included among them were Rotary clubs.
Next week Rhos-on-Sea Rotary Club will be hosting its Scrap Collection Week from June 25 to 27 and collecting scrap metals for sale through an authorised scrap dealer, this time for peaceful purposes.
If you have any metal items you want to recycle, and you would like the Rotary Club to do some good with the money raised, telephone 07855 095197 after 9am on Tuesday June 25 to Thursday June 27 to arrange collection.
The aim is to collect unwanted aluminium, brass, copper, lead and dense steel items to recycle through an authorised metals dealer.
The money raised will go to Rhos-on-Sea Rotary Club's good causes. Scrap items must be moveable by two people in a car with a 9ft trailer.
