ANOTHER phenomenal selection of world class entertainment is on its way to Venue Cymru this July for a stellar start to a jam-packed programme.

Continuing the venue’s stellar line-up from previous years, the Llandudno theatre will host an acid tongued and controversial comic, a storied brass section and the ultimate guilty pleasure.

Heading to Venue Cymru on Thursday, July 18, slick television funnyman Jimmy Carr will take to the stage in Terribly Funny to scrutinise the notion that political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo in the first of two side splitting sets in Llandudno in 2019.

Jimmy’s brand new show contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things. - terrible things that might have affected you or people you know and love. But they're just jokes!

The following night, an altogether more wholesome affair is in the offing, as Strictly Come Dancing pro trio Giovanni Pernice, Aljaž Škorjanec and Gorka Marquez join forces for a masterclass in everything form Latin to ballroom and beyond in Here Come the Boys.

On Saturday 20, the Grimethorpe Colliery Band will bring 102 years worth of tradition to bear and treat music lovers to the soaring brass sounds that have earned the band pride of place in major events including FIFA World Cup, BAFTA Awards, BBC Proms, Eurovision and London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.

Closer to home, the Llandudno Youth Music Theatre will return after last year's storming performance of Barnum last summer for three nights of Oklahoma! from Thursday 25.

To close the month, a double bill of exceptional tributes will remind theatre lover of the magic of Motown and Blues in The Chicago Blues Brothers' Motown Mission on Friday 26 and a presentation by the Friends of Venue Cymru on Saturday 27 entitled Soul & Motown.
