CAERNARFON to back to winning ways with a hard-fought three wicket victory at Rhewl.

A success for the North Wales Cricket League Division Four side looked assured after they skittled their opponents out for just 42, with Jason Parry leading the charge with five wickets for the loss of 14 runs.

This came from a spell of just four overs, and things would have been far worse for the home side had it not been for opener Ashley Cook’s unbeaten knock of 22.

Other bowlers that caught the eye were Llyr Erddyn Davies, who claimed two top order scalps at the expense of 12 runs, with Monis Altaf and Barry Roberts claiming a wicket apiece.

The Cofis’ made hard work of reaching their total after a valiant effort from the hosts, with Dafydd Rhys (6), Mustakim Raza (0), Rhodri Owen (2). Jac Birch (1) and Barry Roberts (3) all failing to impact the scoreboard during the opening exchanges.

Richie Parry’s 13 went a long way to securing the win, with 11 runs coming from extras as they finally reached their target for the loss of six wickets after 32 overs of play.

The result moves Caernarfon into third spot in the standings ahead of their next outing at home to Llandudno Seconds on Saturday.
