CAERNARFON Town have appointed Dave Cavanagh as their new head of coaching.
The new arrival at the JD Welsh Premier League side arrives after a spell at FAW Tier Two Championship North side Conwy Borough, where he held the position of assistant manager after joining Warren Gibbs’ backroom team last December.
Cavanagh is no stranger to The Oval having worked within the club’s Academy system in the past, and he also played a leading role in the incredible Bangor City youth set-up.
He was also assistant manager at the Canaries during the Lee Dixon era, and he is a UEFA/FAW Senior and Elite Youth A Licence holder.
Vice chairman Paul Evans, said: “Dave is well-known amongst the North Wales football scene and has over twenty years’ experience of coaching within the Welsh game.
“This experience, together with his vision for the development and growth of the club’s Academy and work in the community, made him the outstanding candidate for the role.
“We are looking forward to working with Dave and seeing these plans come to fruition.
“We as a club also wish to thank the FAW for assisting and guiding us during this whole recruitment process.”
The full-time role is part of ongoing structural changes at the club, which has seen Allan Bickerstaff take over as first team manager accommodate the UEFA Licence criteria.
