A NEW stage show will highlight the life and music of legendary American singer songwriter Paul Simon in Colwyn Bay this week.

Ahead of appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival next month, Liverpudlian singer songwriter Gary Edward Jones will take to the Theatr Colwyn stage to tell the unique story of one of his idols Paul Simon.

Combining visuals, stage design, storytelling and, of course, that iconic music and incredible songs Jones will celebrate everything from Simon and Garfunkel classics to Graceland and beyond.

Music highlights include classic ballads including The Sound of Silence, America and Kathy’s Song, to the more upbeat Me And Julio, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, Wristband to the iconic Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

Jones said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the creative process for Something About Simon, taking the show from paper to rehearsals to stage. We were completely overwhelmed by the audience response, and now we cannot wait for the next phase in the show’s development – next stop Theatr Colwyn.”

A natural storyteller, with charisma and warm Liverpudlian charm, Jones weaves together songs and stories that cross the Atlantic, from New Jersey to the North West of England in an unmissable show guaranteed to cement itself into the “hearts and bones”of lovers of the musical icon.

More than just a tribute show, join Jones to experience the power of Paul Simon's once again on Theatr Colwyn on Friday, July 5 at 7.30pm.
