Waring will be aided in the role by Mike Batey and Ben Jones, who are the Specsavers Division Two North side’s new backs coaches, with Dale Blackmore given the task of improving the squad’s forward during the season.

Another notable appointment is Simon Pendlebury, who will take on the role of fitness coach, and Alistair Horton will be in charge of kit and match day logistics.

Mark Barnes will look after video analysis during competitive fixtures, with the duo of Simon Farrell and Colin Hall undertaking management roles in a further boost to the overall stricture within the set-up.

Influential squad member Simon Johnson has been selected as club captain, Ian Marshall has been appointed vice-captain and Simon Cheetham is set Dragons’ new second team skipper.

A club spokesman, said: “This is the first time that such a large team has been put together but with the new first class facilities at Ty Newydd Field the aim is to progress to the first division with promotion this coming season.

“There is also a large youth squad with the addition of last season’s under 16s. It is proposed that some u17s games will be played to give as many as possible game time.

“The women’s squad is looking very positive as they aim for a season of friendly games to prepare for joining the league for the 20/21 season.

“There is an ever-growing junior section with an increase of numbers due to the move. There is plenty of enthusiasm around the club going forward.

“Players of all age groups and abilities are welcome to join us whether new to the sport or not.”

Every Friday evening there is a mixed ability tag session at the club from 7pm. All are welcome to join in for the hour.
